Support the affordable care act

medicaid

Imagine…A health care system that has a plan in place to provide healthcare to those who otherwise would have limited access to receive it.

A system that considers the health needs of our veterans, business owners, caregivers, low-income families and workers, the mentally ill, and those recovering from addiction.

A system that puts to use key provisions of the landmark healthcare reform law that will prioritize the delivery of care to those who need it most.

In the state of Ohio, there is an opportunity. As our policy makers consider the option to expand Medicaid, at the heart of the advocacy effort are the voices of individuals like you. To assist in building a unified front that supports the expansion, we have developed a website that contains key information about how Medicaid helps and what you can do to make a difference in this discussion. Please visit www.medicaidhelps.com for more information about how expansion can positively impact our patients, communities, employees, and neighbors.

Finally, take just three minutes out of your day and visit www.medicaidhelps.com to send a letter to your legislator telling them that you believe Medicaid can help.

Thank you!

OMCDC moves into Portage County

Portage Horizon is Open! Special guests and OMCDC officially open the new program on 11/16.

OMCDC recently opened our first program in Portage County. Portage Horizon is a partnership with Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority and will be home to six young females ages 18-24.  The program is modeled after our successful Summit County program — Horizon House, where young adults are given housing while they are working, completing an education and planning for their futures.

OMCDC is now accepting applications for this program. Applicants must be Portage County residents and be eligible for low-income housing.
