Meadowlark Lane

Meadowlark Lane & Brambling Path

Consists of 15 Units of Independent Housing. For people with co-occuring disorders this housing development will provide permanent housing for fifteen (15), low-income homeless men or women, 18 years of age or older, recovering from dependencies and or other disabilities who have six (6) months documented recovery to qualify for this program. This housing development will provide residents with a safe and sober environment. Funding from the HUD Supportive Housing Program will provide for the addition of a wide variety of educational, behavioral and primary health care services plus social services. The project will target individuals making between 35% or less of the AMI.

This housing project will fill a critical gap in Summit County for low income homeless individuals, serving as the next step for those leaving a transitional housing program or Section 8 housing. CHC & OMCDC will collaborate with area employers identified as partners in welfare reform, established community self-sufficiency programs such as H.M. Life Opportunity Services, Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority and the Summit County Jobs and Family Services Department to locate participants. Brambling Path

Meadowlark Lane & Brambling Path

Brambling Path consists of 9 one-bedroom units for 9 recovering persons with a co-occuring disorder. A wide variety of educational, social and health services will be integrated into this effort. The project will target individuals making between 35% or less of the AMI. This housing development will fill a critical gap in Summit County for low income homeless men and women, serving as the next step for those leaving a transitional housing program or Section 8 housing. CHC will collaborate with area employers identified as partners in welfare reform, and established community self-sufficiency programs such as H.M. Life Opportunity Services, Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority and the Summit County Jobs and Family Services Department to locate participants.

This housing development is a project designed to assist low-income homeless individuals who have a co-occuring disorder with a chemical dependency/mental illness and/or other disabilities. The residents are provided with a safe and sober environment for treatment and recovery. This housing project will target individuals making between 35-65% of the Area Median Income and serve as the next step out of transitional housing.

Residents at Meadowlark Lane & Brambling Path will undergo:

  • Educational, behavioral, and primary health care services, along with social services
  • Socialization skills training on site
  • Medication administering and monitoring on site
